Emily's table was a major undertaking, and I wasn't quite ready for it.  Legs canted at an angle, drawers cantilevered out in space, shop-sawn veneers and formal construction - it almost got the best of me. Well, actually, it did get the best of me - or rather, Emily did. I struggled to understand how things were done - I wrestled with the table top construction for weeks, until I came upon a solution that was simple and elegant.  I sent the idea to Fine Woodworking Magazine, who then published it as a four page article.
